Why Clergy?
We exist in a pluralistic community, which means that many different belief systems are appreciated and respected. We happen to stand on the word of God (2 Tim 3:16, KJV).
The Word of God is not just a theological text. More, it offers a concise and proper way of living.
As Clergy, we promote and instruct others in the principles and precepts of the word of God.
For example, God chose others to be set apart to serve His people. These were called Ministers. Later, God had these ministers ordained (Exodus 29: 1-16). We still ordain others to this day.
The Biblical Role of Clergy is to care for the people of God. The precept is found in Matthew 25: 34-41.

The ordained minister is the spiritual guardian of God’s ordinances. Among these ordinances is marriage. We are also responsible for Baptisms and the conversion of the lost.
Hence, being charged with such a responsible task as Marriage, it becomes our imperative to insure those entering Marriage be rightfully nd properly prepared.
